Who do you want the site to target?
Equally important, is outlining who you want the website to appeal to. It may be that only a certain segment of your customers will use the site. Or perhaps you are trying to attract new customers?
- Are you targeting predominantly males or females? Old or young?
- What are their demographic characteristics?
This is vital to developing the site design. For example a site designed for young males would be very different to something targeting retired females. Maybe your site needs to appeal to an overseas market? This could also have implications for accessibility etc.
